Sunday Runday - NOT
I spent the day today editing video and putting together a commercial video for a client instead of running. Sure, I was getting paid, but I would’ve rather been running in the woods.
Is that messed up?
Hagrid from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Quote suggested by Brenna. I thought this picture was perfect because at this point I was in so much pain and I knew there was more to come.
A couple more miles bite the mud. Oh yeah, it was my first run in the mud with my Vibrams. The ground was harsh today, but the shoes worked great. (Taken with instagram)
Wow, the organizers of the Chicago marathon need to take a hard look at what New York is doing in terms of using technology to track the runners. Chicago (Lasalle Bank) gives you a system that sends out-of-date information three times over the course of the race via SMS; New York (ING) gives you a free, real-time web tracker integrated with Google Maps. They also offer an iPhone app and an SMS-based system that undoubtedly works.
Get your shit together, Lasalle. This isn’t helping shake the whole “Second City” thing.
(BTW: that’s mkr71 on the screen, along with my friend Steve, who has probably stopped at 2 bars for beer already…that’s his thing, he’ll finish in seven hours, drunk.)
One day, I will run this race.
Keep this in mind, with a heel strike you have no muscle elasticity. Think of jumping rope and landing on your heels. Ya, it blows! So stop.
